Say Something By Wilfred Kozub There’s something on your mind and there is something on mine When I ask you what you think, you can’t think of anything I’m not the nosey kind but I can’t read your mind What I get is what I see and it’s all good with me. But when you’re so sad I feel so bad I just want to tell you Say something funny to me Say something clever to me Say something stupid to me Just don’t say nothing to me When you make little sounds I know you’re in a foul mood And you give me a look – Awww it just doesn’t feel good I maybe make a joke – Aww you know that I care I’m may be bein’ sincere, but I’m just dyin’ out there Please don’t cry You know I try to try Don’t be so shy Say something funny to me Say something clever to me Say something stupid to me Just don’t say nothing to me Aww what’s gonna become of us – well I said that before Well I don’t know either – yeah, it makes me wonder for sure I wish you’d just say something – something . . . anything! You know, silence is beautiful but . . . Please don’t cry . . don’t cry Don’t be so sad Say something funny to me Say something clever to me Say something stupid to me Just don’t say nothing to me Say some sweet nothin’ to me Say somethin’ somethin’ to me Say somethin’ heavy to me That might have meaning to me Say somethin’ stupid to me . . . don’t say nothin’ Copyright, ©, 2016, by Wilfred Kozub/Zönik Music Productions (SOCAN)

Right Under Your Nose by Wilfred Kozub When you’re searching for something And you never quite can find it You look out every window And it just isn’t there You’re feeling down and empty Or maybe you’re lost and lonely When everything you wanted Was right under your nose Right under your nose, right under your nose Right under your nose, right under your nose Waiting for the good weather, A better life or whatever You’re only going to find it Right under your nose When life is full of worry And you want to make it better You find the one who was there for you (follow your nose) No wonder I have missed you I never shoulda dissed you Now I just want to kiss you Right under your nose Right under your nose, right under your nose Right under your nose, right under your nose Copyright, ©, 2012, by Wilfred Kozub (SOCAN)

Pluto 03:23
Pluto by Wilfred Kozub I didn’t have to be another superstar How many do we need? Sometimes it’s like I’m floating in a Kuiper belt And I don’t know what that means Sometimes . . . I feel . . . I’ve been left out in the cold . . . Pluto – so o cold Pluto – so o cold Pluto – so o cold Pluto – so o cold Pluto – so o cold – so o cold It’s not so great to be declassified When no one notices at all Yeah it really, really, really is impossible To have a pulse at all It’s hopeless sometimes – silence is deafening Mostly it feels like nothing is ever happening (Pluto, Pluto, Pluto . . . my little Plutino) Pluto (I’m home) Pluto (I’m home) Come home Pluto (I’m home) Come home Pluto (I’m home) Come home Pluto (I’m home) Come home Pluto (I’m home) Come home Pluto Come home . . . Come home Copyright, ©, 2015, by Wilfred Kozub (socan)

It’s Spring! By Wilfred Kozub Alive in the air I’m starting to feel alive The lifeblood is running The lifeblood is running The lifeblood is running and I feel alive There’s life in the air . . . yeah, I just feel alive! Spring is coming Where was it going? Flickers returning, Peregrines calling Water is rolling first thing in the morning Must have left something behind. Wish it could always be spring Wish it could always be spring Alive in the air The lifeblood is running Yeah, alive in the air – feeling good! And the lifeblood is running Spring is coming . . . where was it going? That it had to come back again? Must have left something behind That it needed to return to find Robins returning, Peregrines preening Primrose predicting first thing in the morning Spring is coming . . . Spring is coming! . . . It’s Spring! Birds are singing It’s Spring! Spring. Wish it could always be spring Wish it could always be spring Copyright, ©, 2016, by Wilfred Kozub/Zönik Music Productions (SOCAN)

Pushing My Buttons by Wilfred Kozub She lies awake when I stay up too late I’m working on my signature sound Foolin’ around, makin’ a rhyme, Being obsessed and wasting some time That’s how I get it done And I have fun Pushing my buttons I don’t know much, so I write what I know And I luck out every once in a while Make a good sound, sing it in time Get it pressed on my own dime That’s how I get it done And I have fun Pushing my buttons She tosses and turns with every sound I make Doesn’t hardly get a wink Rolling around, messing up time Sinister sounds, overactive mind Fooling around, makin’ a rhyme Being obsessed and wasting my time That’s how I get it done (pushing my buttons) And I have fun Pushing my buttons I gave up long ago on the glory days (so long ago) I couldn’t get arrested And I still try but I barely get by And at least some friends think I’m alright Fooling around, making a rhyme Being obsessed and wasting my time That’s how I get it done Pushing my buttons . . . and I have fun Make a good sound, sing it in time Getting it pressed on my own dime . . . pushing my buttons Copyright, ©, 2015 by Wilfred Kozub (SOCAN)

I’ll Never Understand Why by Wilfred Kozub I’ll never understand why I’ll never understand why I’ll never understand why - why No I’ll never understand why I live my life in this world So many people like you and me Why can’t we see I to I? Don’t understand but I try It’s hard to see past ourselves I don’t know why we can’t all belong I’ll never understand why - why No I’ll never understand why We live like we’re in a dream A life on earth like there’s never been Don’t see beyond our own lies It’s becoming reality This is the best world we ever had How did we mess it up so bad? I’ll never understand why No I’ll never understand why Copyright, ©, 2015, by Wilfred Kozub (SOCAN)

about

"Passing Through Time" is the 10th Wilfred N & the Grown Men album. When Wilfred Kozub’s group recorded their debut 12” vinyl album, Riding Double, the Edmonton Journal’s Alan Kellogg wrote, “ . . . you wonder what might have happened if BrianWilson met these guys before he jumped in the sandbox 15 years ago.” That was in 1984. Flash further back to 1979 when then Edmonton Journal writer Graham Hicks commented on seeing Wilfred N & the Grown Men live: “I’ve never heard an Edmonton band with such extraordinarily good original songs”. Where Riding Double reflected the thrilling New Wave scene of the time, the group’s later albums began to show the breadth and depth of their musical goodness. They had a modest hit in Canada with "I Could Get Closer To You" and their classic "Thunder on the Tundra" is still well-loved today. Yes, the ‘glory days’ are one thing . . . but today they are as good as they ever were. Here we are in 2017 and Wilfred N & the Grown Men are going strong with some of their best music ever.
