When I listen to a song after I have finished it, I wonder "how in the heck did that happen???" Sometimes I don't even remember writing the song. In this case though, I know the tune started from just playing around on the piano, and I especially remember the trumpet part because I stole it from myself. That part was originally supposed to be on the tag of a rather short song of mine titled "The Rain". It was short because I ran out of half-inch analog tape when I was recording it - the tape was literally spilling off the reel and I had to finish it real fast and as a result never got to add that trumpet figure.

So . . . I did steal that part from myself and made it factor in this song. It was right under my nose.

That's me on vocals, keyboard parts, drum programming and other bits including my Firebird guitar with tremolo. Jamie Philp played some astounding guitar parts on it. That voice saying "follow your nose" is my wife, Daryl Kozub. She has a great sense of 'rightness' and the simple little spoken bits are just right in this song. Thanks!!!
